Van Briggle Pottery Shapes.
My purpose here is to provide a shape
identification guide by using photographs of actual examples. The shapes
covered are those designed prior to 1912. I have chosen this time frame because
most of the designs created during this period are numbered and fairly well
documented. I have tried to to use photographs of pieces created prior to 1935.
There have been several people who have furnished photographs. Some I have had
stashed for years and don't remember where they came from. This is no small
task so any and all help is deeply appreciated.
This is by no means to be a historical study of the pottery but a visual display to aid in identification and/or just to be enjoyed as there are some pictures of very rare examples.
In some cases the images have been processed using photo Shop to better show the design and therefore may not reflect the true colors of the piece.
ENJOY!!
